Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-10-13
1. Overview
Opusdex is a portfolio service that turns your GitHub repositories into a shareable portfolio. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Opusdex, you agree to this policy.
2. Information We Collect
Account information: when you sign in with GitHub or Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from that provider. Profile information: anything you add to your profile, such as your bio, website, and social links. Project information: the projects you create or import, including titles, descriptions, and the GitHub repository metadata you choose to display (stars, forks, languages, topics, and commit activity). Usage information: basic view counts on your public portfolio.
3. GitHub Integration
For public repositories, we read only metadata from the GitHub API — never your source code. If you connect a GitHub account to import private repositories, we store an encrypted OAuth token and use it solely to list your repositories and fetch their metadata. This token is stored encrypted, is never shared, and can be revoked at any time by disconnecting the account.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to operate the service: to create and manage your account, to build and display your public portfolio, to fetch and display GitHub metrics, and to provide basic analytics. We do not sell your personal information.
5. Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to protect your account during sign-in. These are necessary for the service to function.
6. Third-Party Services
We rely on a small number of trusted providers to operate: Supabase (database and authentication), Vercel (hosting), and GitHub and Google (sign-in and repository data). These providers process data only as needed to provide their respective services.
7. Data Retention & Deletion
Your data is retained while your account is active. If you delete your account, your profile, projects, and connected accounts are permanently removed. You may also remove individual projects or disconnect a GitHub account at any time.
8. Security
We protect your data with industry-standard practices, including encryption in transit (HTTPS) and encryption of stored GitHub tokens. Access to sensitive data is restricted to our server-side systems.
9. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information. You can exercise these rights directly in your account settings, or by contacting us below.
10. Contact
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or how your data is handled, contact us at support@opusdex.vercel.app.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
